What to Have Ready When You Call

Two minutes of preparation usually gets you a much tighter price range on the first call, and often avoids a separate measuring visit.

• What the door is doing. Sticking, grinding, dropping, not locking, fogged glass. The symptom points at the part.
• How many panels. A two-panel slider and a four-panel stacking door are very different jobs.
• Roughly how old the door is. This tells us a lot about what hardware to expect.
• Whether it is impact glass. Look for an etched stamp in a corner of the pane or a label on the frame.
• A photo of the sill track. If you can send one, we can usually tell you straight away whether the track needs capping.
• Whether anything has been repaired before. Previous work changes what we expect to find.

What Happens Next

We will give you a range on the call. If the fault is clear from the description, that range is usually close to final.

If we find something different once the panel is out, we stop and tell you before continuing. No work happens above the quoted range without you agreeing to it first.
